Someone opens the box and sees their own name, spelled sign by sign in hieroglyphs, inside the oval that once protected the names of kings. From then on it is the piece they reach for when they want to be reminded who they are.
THIS PIECE — HOLLOW
The cartouche is the oval that ancient Egyptian scribes drew around a royal name to protect it. This one is open-work: the hieroglyphs of the name are cut free and held inside the silver frame, so light passes through the pendant and the name reads against whatever you wear it over. The lightest of the four.
HOW TO ORDER
Choose the chain length, then type the name to engrave in the field above the Add to cart button: letters and spaces only, up to 9 characters. The engraver cuts the name exactly as you type it, so check the spelling before you order.

Every Jasperade piece is made by hand in a small silversmith workshop in Cairo: cut, engraved, oxidized and finished without casting or machine work, so no two pieces are quite identical. We make each piece after you order it.
CARE
Sterling silver naturally darkens over time. Wipe with a soft polishing cloth and store it away from perfume, chlorine and prolonged contact with water. Blackened (oxidized) details are intentional and should not be polished off.

Order today and it leaves Cairo within 3 to 5 working days, tracked to your door. Delivery times by region are on our shipping page. Unworn, non-personalized pieces may be returned within 30 days; engraved pieces are exchanged only if faulty.
